MAHOMET MUSIC FESTIVAL

In partnership with the Village of Mahomet & the Mahomet Music Festival, the Mahomet Lions hosts the beer garden area at the annual community festival that brings 10,000+ festival goers to the community to enjoy two days of free music, carnival rides, street vendors, bags tournament and more.
​
Funds raised from beverages sales is cycled back into the community through donations & sponsorships supporting local charities and organizations.
ANNUAL GOLF OUTING​
​
Held annually in the Fall, the Mahomet Lions Annual Golf Outing brings the community together for a day of fun that includes 18 holes of golf, meal and prizes.
​
Funds raised help us support area community organizations such as Helping Hands & MAYCS, along with supporting those who cannot afford hearing aides and/or glasses. Additionally, funds help support youth 7-17 years old to attend Camp Lion (a camp for deaf, blind, and those with severe vision impairments).
HONOR PARADE
​
The annual Mahomet Lions Club Honor Parade was introduced as a way to recognize our local veterans, first responders, firefighters and law enforcement. The parade is held each spring.
​
The local community comes out and shows their appreciation by decorating their lawns in red, white & blue along with waving American flags and cheering on our local heroes.
​
Funds raised from the parade entries is cycled backed into our community.
RECYCLE FOR SIGHT
​
Usable glasses give new sight! Refractive errors can easily be corrected with eyeglasses, yet millions living in low and middle income countries lack access to basic eye care services.
​
The Mahomet Lions Club proudly supports the collection of usable eyeglasses to support the Lions Recycle For Sight program.
​
You may drop off usable eyeglasses in the Lions Recycle For Sight boxes located at: Mahomet Post Office, Mahomet Methodist Church, Burgwald Eye Center, Busey Bank, First Mid Bank, Fisher National Bank, Carle Clinic or Christie Clinic
HEARING AID RECYCLING

Hearing aid recycling allows Lions to provide the gift of sound by providing affordable hearing aids for hard-of-hearing individuals who have limited financial resources. We accept hearing aids of any age, brand or model.
​
Donations may be dropped off in any of the Hearing Aid Recycling donation boxes located at: Mahomet Post Office, Mahomet Methodist Church, Burgwald Eye Center, Busey Bank, First Mid Bank, Fisher National Bank, Carle Clinic or Christie Clinic
WHY COLLECT PULL TABS? ​

It's FUN & it helps children in need. Mahomet Lions collect pull tabs for the Shriner Hospital for Children.
​
It's not just soda and beer cans! Any aluminum tab will do, including soup and SPAM cans.

INK CARTRIDGE RECYCLING

Mahomet Lions are committed to the environment. Bring your used ink cartridges to any of our drop off locations and help us meet our service goal. The used cartridges will be recycled, saving valuable space in our landfills.

CELL PHONE RECYCLING
​
Mahomet Lions are collecting old cell phones. Any age, brand and model are accepted. These phones are then turned into organizations that refurbishes them and then distributed to women living in area shelters, giving them a quick way to call for help in the event of an emergency.
​
